In Quebec, we donate 185,000 tonnes of clothing per year to the various organizations in place.
The organizations that collect all these clothes keep only about 10% of the donations they receive for resale. The rest is sent directly to an export factory.
The factory that receives the goods will resell the garments to traders from developing countries. Unfortunately, unsold clothing will end up in our oceans or be put underground in a landfill.
That's why buying second-hand not only benefits your wallet but also the planet.
I therefore invite you to watch the short video below to learn a little more about the process of our thrift store to "save" these clothes from landfills and our oceans.
